What to Bring to Your Boudoir Photo Session

If you have a boudoir photo shoot on the schedule or if you’re thinking about booking one, congratulations on taking that leap of faith and investing in yourself! Now you get to have the fun of planning. As you’re dreaming up your ideal boudoir session, here are some quick tips for what you might want to bring with you (and what you don’t have to bring if you book with me).

Fun Outfits

We all love putting together a playful outfit, and you can let out your flirty fashionista for your boudoir photo session. Lingerie is a go-to, of course, but you can bring other types of outfits too like an oversized shirt with booty shorts, a men’s button-down shirt, a silky robe, or any other outfit that makes you feel sexy. I do have an extensive client closet of quality dresses in a variety of sizes and you’re welcome to use any of them that you like, but you’re welcome to bring some pieces of your own too if you’d like.

Anything Sentimental to Include

Some women want to bring something meaningful or something that’s been an important part of their story to include in their boudoir portraits, and I’m happy to work with these items. For example, you might bring your bridal veil or something else from your wedding, or a piece of jewelry that’s special to you. You can also bring items that mean something to your partner. It’s fun to work the items in subtlety that they’ll need to take their time to appreciate in the image.

Accessories

Just as you can bring some of your own outfits, some women like to bring accessories of their own too. That could include glamorous jewelry, stockings, sexy shoes, or sultry hats. But I also have plenty of accessories in my client closet so don’t worry, we can deck you out.

What You Don’t Have to Bring to My Boudoir Photo Session

At my Mercer Island photo studio, I’ve specifically designed my boudoir photography (and my other photography sessions) to be as easy and enjoyable for you as possible. That means you don’t have to bring a bunch of items with you to your photo shoot…in fact, you don’t have to bring anything at all!

As I mentioned above, I have a packed client closet of options, but sometimes simplicity is best! There’s no need to go shopping for something new or bring your whole lingerie drawer (but you can if you’d like to). You also don’t need to worry about your hair and makeup or bring items for touch-ups because professional hair and makeup are included in every session. My professional stylist will glam you up and bring out all your best features while you just relax and enjoy some pampering.
