Should You Turn Your Professional Portraits Into Wall Art?

As a photographer offering maternity, newborn, and family photography and more at my Seattle-area studio, I’m driven every day by the honor of creating beautiful and treasured portraits for my clients. I truly want the best for my clients, which is why it’s so important to me that you don’t just walk away with some digital files but with wall art that allows you to enjoy your family photos day in and day out.

The Importance of Creating Wall Art with Your Custom Portraits

I get it - you’re busy and it’s tempting to say, “I’ll just get the image files and figure out what to do with them later.” But trust me when I say that displaying your portraits as wall art from the start is worth it. Here’s why.

Getting the Most from Your Photo Session

I aim to make my clients’ photo shoot experience simple and stress-free, but no matter how you slice it, every parent still pours time and energy into getting beautiful family portraits. Of course you do, they’re special! The last thing you want is to invest all that energy and only get one or two social media posts out of the deal, or have your photos just forgotten in a digital folder somewhere. Wall art allows you to enjoy your portraits every day.

Creating True Custom Artwork

Professional portraits aren’t just cute or pretty pictures - that’s what smartphones are for. These portraits are one-of-a-kind pieces of art. You wouldn’t be satisfied with a snapshot of a beautiful painting, you want to hang it on your wall, and that’s true for your professional photos too.

Creating Treasured Heirlooms

Physical images have a magical quality that digital images just can’t match. So many families have felt the comfort and bond of looking through family photos as they come together to honor a loved one who has passed away, and creating displays with your portraits is a way to make sure you give your kids this comfort someday too. Frankly, it’s so easy for digital files to be corrupted or accidentally deleted or for you to forget where you stored them, and we don’t even know if these file formats will be used in the decades to come. Display portraits give you tangible heirlooms to pass down through generations.

Steps I Take to Offer Premium, Quality Wall Art

Family portraits have so much potential to hold cherished memories and serve as portals to the past and links to loved ones no matter how much your lives change as your kids grow up. As a photographer, I take special care to make sure your custom wall art lives up to its potential.

For every photo session, I visit my client for an in-home consultation. During that consultation, not only will we talk about your vision for your portraits and design your dream session but I’ll also look at how and where you want to display your portraits so I can design your session accordingly. When it’s time to order your portraits, I use custom software that lets you preview what your images will look like in different sizes and frames in your space.

I also offer in-depth editing for the portraits you choose to display. With intricate care, I zoom in and hand-edit every detail to make sure you get artistic perfection that’s fit for display. Going one step further, I lifetime guarantee the wall art. Should anything happen to it, simply reach out to me and I’ll take care of it.
